Jesuit Cup Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO LOYOLA GOLD ON WINNING THE JESUIT CUP HOCKEY TOURNAMENT! 

LOYOLA GOLD WENT 3-0 IN ROUND ROBIN PLAY TO FINISH FIRST.  LOYOLA GOLD FACED ST. IGNATIUS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SETTING UP A REMATCH OF THE O’GRADY CUP FINAL. LOYOLA GOLD FELL BEHIND 1-0 IN THE SECOND PERIOD.  LOYOLA GOLD TIED THE GAME IN THE THIRD PERIOD WITH A GOAL BY WALTMAN ASSISTED BY COWEN AND T. MACHINA.  ST. IGNATIUS TOOK THE LEAD BACK WITH 5:17 LEFT TO PLAY.  LOYOLA TOOK ADVANTGE OF A POWER PLAY LATE IN THE THIRD WITH A GOAL BY GUSTAFSON ASSISTED BY BOERSMA AND COWEN WITH 2:06 LEFT IN THE THIRD.  REGULATION PLAY ENEDED WITH THE GAME TIED.  THE GAME REMAINED TIED UNTIL 3:32 LEFT IN OVERTIME WHEN LOYOLA GOLD SCORED THE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING GOAL WITH A GOAL BY MALANIUK ASSISTED BY GABAL AND LILLYBRIDGE.  A GREAT TEAM EFFORT WAS LED BY HAYNIE WITH 28 SAVES.
