LA JV 7 v York 2. Here is a recap of the game. The first period stated out York’s way. York scored early in the first with a slap shot from outside the blue line that didn’t bode well for Loyola. That score held for the first period with both teams fighting off a couple of penalties. It appeared that it would not be a good night for Loyola.

The second period quickly brought on the tying goal. Adam Eggert scored a power play goal for Loyola on a York checking from behind penalty. York scored just past the half-way mark of the period in similar fashion of the power play to take the lead. James Hess rallied Loyola with a tally with 4:30 remaining to end the period with a tie. The game looked like it could go either way.
The third period went all Loyola’s way. It was capped by a short –handed, hat trick goal by James Hess with 2:29 remaining in the third. The first line of Loyola JV (Hess, Maher, and Bartuce) accounted for 5 goals and Billy Hennessy scored the second defensive player goal of the game to round out the scoring. Penalties for the evening were 9 for York (including 2, 10 minute misconducts) and 6 minor penalties for Loyola.  Michael Martinez was in net for Loyola with 16 saves.
The Quarter Final Game will be at the AHAI center Thursday, March 15 at 8:35PM.
